Batik Atelier
Batik remains one of the most essential elements of Dora D. It reflects the rich heritage of Bali and Indonesia. The history of Batik is significant enough to spend an entire blog post on its own. Batik is a genuine piece of history that tells a story about the village or the family behind it.
Since the beginning, we have collaborated closely with our Atelier. Every year, my mother and I visit the atelier to experience the new batik creations firsthand. At Dora D, we use the traditional block printing technique, but rather than employing the original Batik stamps, we utilize relatively modern ones. This approach allows us to design unique patterns and create entirely original batiks that represent our own artistic vision.
